Electrical Safety and Essential Electrical Systems in Health/Patient Care Facilities

electrical safety

CSA Z32-15 (Formally Referred to in Specs. As Z32–09)

The purpose and scope of the Z32 standard is to ensure that the proper electrical safety and essential electrical systems in a patient care facility (some examples are hospitals, doctor’s offices, exam rooms, dental and chiropractic offices, etc.) have a general standard guideline. It is designed to be supplementary to the CEC (Canadian Electrical Code) installation requirements in sections 24 and 52. It deals with the protection of patients from the hazards of shock, fire and interference of proper functionality of critical medical equipment. It is required testing of new or renovated construction in patient care environments and is to be repeated every five years after the initial test or in the event of equipment failure or replacements.

We look forward to hearing from you to discuss your electrical safety and system needs. We’ll work with you to provide these services, as well as any of the others that we offer (thermal imaging, UE airborne ultrasound, GasFind IR, power monitoring) to you and your group.
